Welcome to the Open Space Alliance

The Open Space Alliance is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to promote public awareness and conservation of Open Space lands, and to educate the public about the natural, historic, cultural, educational, and recreational aspects of Open Space areas.

Vision: Residents and visitors will understand and value Albuquerque’s Open Space Program, and recognize the Open Space Alliance as an avenue for stewardship and engagement.

Mission: OSA will enhance the experiences of all users of Albuquerque Open Space lands by providing financial support for Open Space programs; by advocating for sustainability and expansion of Open Space programs; and by encouraging increased public involvement with and use of Open Space lands.

2:00pm – 4:30pm

This workshop is intended for young artists in elementary to middle school (ages 5 through 12). Participants will use a variety of materials to create unique mosaics with an emphasis on using recycled materials. A discussion of the basic principles of mosaic art is included.

Space is limited to sixteen students. Call 897-8831 to sign up.

Saturday, April 27

The Albuquerque High School Jazz Combo directed by Elsie Stott will perform on the back patio of the beautiful grounds of the Open Space Visitor Center. The concert will accompany the opening reception of a nature photography exhibit by Albuquerque High School honors student Henry Hammel.

Henry Hammel, an honors student at Albuquerque High School and avid nature photographer will display his beautiful photographs of Albuquerque’s Open Space lands at the Open Space Visitor Center. During the reception, the Albuquerque High School Jazz Combo, directed by Elsie Stott will perform on the back patio.
