Artist Linda Rael presents a demonstration workshop using leaves from various plants and trees to dye and print their images onto fabric. Linda will demonstrate the processes of fabric preparation, binding and how the finished prints work after the dyeing process is complete. Handouts will be given with information and additional sources.

A day of art, music, and poetry on the lovely grounds of the Open Space Visitor Center.
Albuquerque’s calligraphy society Escribiente, the New Mexico Book Arts Guild Libros, the New Mexico State Poetry Society (NMSPS), the Open Space Alliance, and dozens of local poets have come together for this unique art exhibit and day of spoken word poetry.

The event features a special musical performance by Albuquerque’s own Bébé La La, a calligraphy art exhibit, demonstrations and workshops, and book sales by local presses including Village Books Press, Beatlick Press, and Dos Gatos Press.

Bring a picnic lunch and spends a day with some of New Mexico’s most talented poets and calligraphers in a stunning outdoor setting!

The Open Space Visitor Center (OSVC) in Albuquerque, and the Española Valley Fiber Arts Center host “Water,” a juried exhibit representing the vast array of fiber arts found throughout the state of New Mexico. Learn about different fiber art techniques and materials as you explore a world of wonders.

The gallery exhibit runs through June 3rd, 2018.
