Church of My Heart is a collection of the writings and meditations of Debra Giomi about the sacred site of the Petroglyph National Monument and other sacred sites. Debra had many profoundly spiritual experiences here and referred to the area as the “Church of My Heart”. We can share in the mystery of this place through hearing some of her thoughts and experiences. It is up to us to carry on a legacy of respect and protection of these sacred places. Through her deep feeling about the sacredness of this place she worked diligently to preserve the park. Honoring it in her writings, she wrote, “I don’t know why this landscape has gotten a hold on me, what it has given life to inside me. I just know I am at peace anywhere around the escarpment and the volcanoes.”

Julia Cairns was born in Oxford, England in 1959. She paints at her studio in Galisteo, NM, and takes part in the annual Studio Tour there every October. Julia teaches and travels, taking a group to Italy every year to paint the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany. Her inspiration comes from nature and the world around her.
