Learn the basics of making and using actively aerated compost tea and compost tea extracts. The science, art, materials, methods, choices and benefits will be included.

This class is offered by the Bernalillo County Master Composters Program.

Presented by Luna Project artist Kris Thacher. As part of the Edge Effect art exhibit currently featured in the Open Space gallery, participants will choose a favorite art work from the exhibit and write a short poem, haiku, fragments or phrases that match the art work.

We will explore the edges between art and words and discover new ways to describe and amplify our visions. Words and pictures will be assembled on special papers.

$10.00 materials fee. Space is limited to 10 people.

Home composting is recycling that produces a useful soil conditioner. Basic composting science will be presented with a special focus on useful practices for a high desert climate. A variety of home composting options will be covered.

Useful take-home information will help a participant get started and/or improve an already chosen composting method.

Meet the Open Space Alliance board and see what this dedicated group of citizens is doing to protect and promote Open Space lands. The annual meeting is free and open to the public and we encourage anyone interested in preserving Albuquerque’s nature heritage to attend.

In addition, Michael Scialdone and Cameron Weber from the Albuquerque Wildlife Federation have been invited to brief our membership about history, projects and accomplishments.

Marriage of Heaven and Earth Qigong is used in China to help heal neck, back, spine and joint problems. It is especially effective for helping to mitigate repetitive stress injury.

Led by Marcy Pincus, Energy Arts Certified Instructor. Class fee is a suggested $5.00 donation.
